Biography

Professor Oussama Chafic Jadayel serves as Vice President for Development at the Lebanese-French University, where he is also Dean of the Engineering Faculty. Previously, he held the post of Vice President for Administration and Development at the American University of Malta. Since earning his Ph.D. in 1990, Professor Jadayel has occupied a range of academic and leadership positions across the U.K., Lebanon, the U.S.A., U.A.E., and Vietnam.

His formal training is in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Aero-Thermodynamics. Throughout his career he has founded numerous programs in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Technology and Geographical Information Systems. Through research and practice he developed expertise in sustainability, environmental management, quality management, people management and leadership.

Professor Jadayel has served on many national and governmental committees, participated in international projects, and offered consultancy to public and industrial organizations. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and has served on its Education and Skills Committee as well as its Middle East Ambassador. He has also organized awareness programs in aviation, sustainability and environmental management.

Earlier in his career he served as a Flight Instructor and Flight Test Examiner. He authored numerous articles and papers in international journals and conferences, and wrote the first book on Lebanese Aviation History, a project that emerged from his research with students.
